For a day full of fun, entertainment, competitions, food, drinks, rides, arena events, and much, much more, take your family to Carbon County Fair. It’s located at 3285 Little Gap Road, Palmerton, PA 18071. This great event will be held between 5th and 10th August 2019. Parking is free but you’ll need to purchase a ticket for admission. Tickets cost $5 per person. Children under 6 are free. Special rides and arena events inside will cost extra. The fair opens on weekdays between 4 pm and 10 pm, while on Saturdays it opens early at 2 pm and closes at 10 pm.
Competitions
Because this is a county fair, you can expect all kinds of competitions. People join not to win or finish first, but rather to have fun and share in the joy of competing against their friends, neighbors or total strangers. Competitions vary and cover many skills and topics. There are baking contests, zero turn competition, quilt block competition, and fair queen program. Then there are the more challenging competitions like garden tractor pull, demolition derby, tuff truck event, antique tractor pull, and remote control demo derby. Naturally, not all of these competitions are suitable for everyone, so you can pick the one that interests you or you can join the crowds and cheer for your favorite team.
Entertainment
Somebody once said that county fairs are mostly about food and live music, and Carbon County Fair in PA is the living proof of that. There are live events every day of the fair. Local bands like Brian Dean Moore Band and The Cramer Brothers along with the Martin Family Circus will feature on the Main Stage. Meanwhile, the arena will feature DJ Chicken Nugget, fireworks, and many of the derby demolition competitions. There’s also a children’s day that features special events for children to be held on August 7th. And that’s not all. The small arena will have its own events as well as certain special events to be held throughout the fair.
