Camping
Right in the heart of the Pocono Mountains is this family campground. The seasonal campground is open from April until September of every year. You need to register at the RV & Camping Registration. The campground and facilities are free for children 12 and under. These include access to the infield camping areas and trackside RV areas. Registration for adults costs $50 per person. As a camping guest, you get free access to entertainment such as live music on Friday and Saturday nights and fireworks on Sunday nights. The camp is pet-friendly and there’s a dog park for your furry friend.
Air Show
The Pocono Raceway Air Show is another reason why you’ll want to be here. The 2-day event will be held on August 23 and 24 this year. The event this year is packed with spectacular shows. Tora Tora Tora recreates the attack on Pearl Harbor with some dazzling 61 pyrotechnic features. Twelve aircraft will take part in this show which will end with a wall of fire. Other shows include David Windmiller Air Shows, Greg Koonts Airshows, Acemaker Airshows T-33, Air Force Heritage Flight Foundation, A-10C Thunderbolt II Demo Team, US Army Golden Nights, and many more.
Fan Store
When you visit the Pocono Raceway, make sure to stop at the Fan Store. It’s open from 10 am until 4 pm every weekday and on Saturday from 10 am until 2 pm. Sunday it’s closed. You are invited to sign your name on the wall of the store and join hundreds of other names from all over the country. Besides the wall signing, you can find a lot of cool stuff to buy. T-shirts, books, and shot glasses are some of the hot merch at the store. You can also ask to have a free track tour while at the store.
Kids Day at the Pocono Raceway
Kids Day is a one-day annual event that will be held on Saturday, July 27. The free event includes different activities to keep the children happy all day. These include face painting, photo booths, clowns, bounce houses, and much more. Children 12 and under can take part for free and adults who have a Saturday pass will also enter for free. In addition, there will be exhibits and displays by several sponsors of the charitable event. This year’s displays will include Legoland Discovery Center of Philadelphia, Crayola Experience, Freedom Gymnastics Booster Club, Sky Zone, Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins, Ronald McDonald House of Scranton and much more.
